NOURISH

No child should have to learn on an empty stomach.

Food is one of life's most fundamental needs. Yet for some children and families, having enough to eat can become uncertain when circumstances change.

Nourish is being developed around a simple principle: practical support should be there when families need it most.

A PRACTICAL DOOR

Sometimes support begins with a meal.

Nourish focuses on helping children and families access food during periods when normal routines and support systems may be disrupted.

In particular, the programme is intended to address situations where children may otherwise go without nutritious meals simply because school is closed or circumstances have changed.

WHY IT MATTERS

Hunger can close doors before a child even gets the chance to walk through them.

When a child is hungry, concentrating, participating and learning can become significantly harder.

Nourish is about removing one practical barrier so children can have a better chance to participate, learn, grow and thrive.

A simple meal can be the first step towards a much bigger opportunity.

OUR APPROACH

Practical help. Human dignity.

01

Essential

Food is treated as a fundamental need, not a luxury.

02

Human

Support should protect dignity and respect the individual.

03

Practical

Help should reach people in the moments when it can make a real difference.

“
Every child deserves the chance to learn, grow and discover their potential — regardless of the circumstances they were born into.
